Is applying to multiple schools with one ApplyYourself account the norm?

Posted by Dino in ,

I started creating my online accounts today for my MBA applications. They all seem to use ApplyYourself these days. I created the first account, then the second one... but when I got to the third, it said I already had an account and whether I wanted a reminder?! I opt for yes and hey presto - it turns out the logins I created before can be used for any school. So I only need one account?

Interestingly, Kellogg seem to have a new website (the old one looked more like this) and there is an initial suggestion that they don't / won't be using ApplyYourself, as evidenced by the login screen. and the EMBA application.

Kellogg didn't use ApplyYourself last year either. I didn't like their system. Very unstable. If you are applying the day of the deadline, I highly recommend uploading your files as early as you can. I had a lot of problems with files uploading but then not appearing or appearing with gibberish in the text. It took me a couple of hours to get it right.

I think Apply Yourself is awful, especially Wharton's last year when words were getting cut off when I viewed the app.

I actually think Kellogg, which uses Embark, had the best system.

I haven't tried Kellogg's system yet (goes live in mid-Aug), but so far I like Chicago GSB's application system the most. Neither the GSB nor CBS use ApplyYourself as far as I know.

ApplyYourself eh? I had been so caught up in CBS that I didn't know about this (how uneducated of me). Do you know if Harvard, Wharton, Yale, and Stern use this? or maybe i should just spend 2 minutes and find out online right now...

damn...I am in a fix now...I had created a marshall account sometime back...However when I logged in to the Marshall applyyourself page recently my browser picked up the credentials I had saved for Tepper CMU....And I had no clue until today...My recommendations have already gone in through this id...Any idea if it is all right using the same id to submit to two different schools?

Yeah... I think we are all agreed that it is best to use one account for all the other application - otherwise a person will just get mixed up.

I should have posted this earlier.

I am applying online and have a question about my Applicant ID number and/or my PIN.
...
If you already have an ApplyYourself PIN number and password from a previous year unsubmitted application or from another school, you can use that same PIN and password to access our application for this year.

Yea...ApplyYourself just confirmed it with this mail:

>>>

You may use one PIN/account to complete and submit multiple online applications to several academic institutions. We recommend that you use one PIN to eliminate any confusion or problems that may arise with managing more than one PIN/account for the online application(s).

Even though you are using one PIN for completing several applications, each online application is independent of the other. Therefore, each institution will only view the application that was submitted to its admissions office. An institution does not have access to an online application that you have submitted or in the process of completing for another school.
